Enodis, a world leading manufacturer of commercial foodservice equipment, has developed an integrated smoothie machine that allows operators to produce and dispense smoothie drinks in less than 40 seconds. The patent-pending unit features a fully integrated ice system that completely eliminates an operator’s need to transport ice during blending. Drinks are blended directly in a cup rather than in a pitcher, simplifying the process even further. The launch is anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2008 and the machine will be shown at the NAFEM Show in February 2009. The unit will be manufactured by Delfield in its Mt. Pleasant, MI facility.
“The development of this machine is a great example of how connecting the dots of knowledge among our operating companies can lead to new world products” says Rick Caron, Chief Technology Officer. “In this case we combined knowledge from three Enodis Operating Companies to create the product concept. We are making the bet that these kinds of opportunities are rich over the long term”.

“This breakthrough beverage product is just one of many from our increasing pipeline of new technologies at the Enodis Technology Center,” says Dave McCulloch, chief executive officer for Enodis. “It’s a perfect manifestation of our goal to leverage the latest technologies to create products that exceed our customers’ needs for innovation, speed, energy efficiency, and reliability. We believe this product will change the frozen beverage market in quick service restaurants.”
